Social media is broken. The conversation is collapsing all over the world.
That's a problem, because good things are built on top of conversation.
Don't worry, IT'S NOT ALL BAD.
FROM EUROPE WITH LOVE
Social media is broken. The conversation is collapsing all over the world. That's a problem, because good things are built on top of conversation.
Don't worry, IT'S NOT ALL BAD.
Why You’re Seeing This
Hey. You’re here because we trust your instincts, your experience, or your ability to ask sharp questions. This site is not a public launch. It’s an internal vision piece—a rough draft—shared with a small group of people we admire.
We’re building something new: a purpose-driven social media platform called Pnyx. It’s a commercial venture, not a charity—but with values at its core. Think European ethics, healthy conversations, and real business KPIs for organizations that care about impact, not just clicks.
So why are we showing you this?
Because we want your take. What’s missing? What’s unclear? What feels off or unconvincing? Tell us what’s not working—we’re here to build, not to be flattered.
Later, we’ll approach partners and investors. Today, we’re putting this in front of sharp minds we trust.
Thank you!

-
We’re testing our framing, tone, and ideas
-
Your honest feedback now will help us sharpen the real thing
-
WHY
We believe in humans, kindness, and curious conversations.
HOW
We are introducing an inclusive space powered by ethical algorithms rewarding positivity and meaningful interactions.
WHAT
A decent and safe digital space for real connections, meaningful ideas, and shared experiences. A 100% European social media platform, free from the noise.
WHY
We believe in humans, kindness, and curious conversations.
Our Manifesto
We believe better conversations shape better worlds. From higher ground, ideas resonate louder, connections deepen, and communities grow stronger.
Imagine a home for human architects, not algorithmic landlords. For smart tools that protect, assist, and elevate. For compassion, respect, and curiosity.
An exodus to human-led spaces, trust-first design, and conversations that matter.
Pnyx (/nɪks/): Greek mountain where democracy got loud in 507 BC.
Freedom of Speech. With Accountability.
People don’t buy WHAT you do, they buy WHY you do it.
MOTIVATION
Social media is broken. Unfortunately.
But it’s still an indispensable part of our digital conversation and infrastructure. That’s why we’re building a new one – one that actually works and protects both users and society.
As the world burns, both literally and metaphorically, it’s hugely hopeful to hear that creative thinkers feel responsible for coming up with ideas to try and save it.

PNYX
Your exit ramp from toxic feeds.
Users, businesses, and movements are demanding platforms that don’t trade ethics for engagement. People have had enough. No more "move fast, break things." No more loopholes. Just a space where real people—of all ages and convictions—can create, share, and connect without getting gamed by the feed.
We’re building it.
HOW
We are introducing an inclusive space powered by an ethical mindset that rewards positivity and meaningful interactions.
ETHICS BEFORE ALGORITHMS
The need for alternative platforms has never been greater.
Existing social media platforms have obvious problems: lack of moderation, declining mental health among young people, and ownership by American and Chinese giants with unscrupulous business models. All of this stands in sharp contrast to European values and data legislation.
The Deep Dive
META has 400 million Europeans trapped in a cycle of clunky design, stagnant features, and "well, it’s where everyone is" resignation. Newsfeed noise. Forgotten events. Threads that die. Communities that feel like ghost towns.
Let's do something else...
We’re creating a new alternative: a modern space for private and professional connections where:-
Conversations flow naturally (no drowning in ads and algorithms)
-
Relationships thrive (no data point-driven attention auctions)
-
The design clocks in at 2025 (not 2012)
This isn’t a tweak. It’s a move.-
We’re leading with purpose: Building a network that bridges.
Primary:
-
Build a commercially sustainable platform that actually connects people across ages, ideologies, and backgrounds. No ad-addicted feeds. No division-as-a-business-model.
-
Strengthen democracy by:
-
Dismantling echo chambers
-
Starving misinformation of oxygen, and
-
Treating digital rights as non-negotiable
-
Secondary:
-
Champion European tech innovators. Because the future shouldn’t be monopolized.
-
Embed climate action in every choice, from servers to suppliers. No exceptions. No shortcuts.
-
Reward healthier conversations. Hate and outrage are cheap engagement tactics. We’re not interested.
-
Social media algorithms distort reality. Our lives are far richer than perfect images of dances, cupcakes, or beaches, yet the filters we use (metaphorically and quite literally) to present ourselves and view others create documented harm—particularly for younger users—by systematically amplifying insecurity and low self-esteem.
This has led to a growing demand from users (especially parents), public institutions, and advocacy groups to challenge these harmful algorithms. User-generated content and creators should be rewarded for delivering true value—value that unites and uplifts society.
Pnyx champions unfiltered creativity, transforming screen time into personal growth – in knowledge, increased self-worth, and how we see the world.Misinformation isn’t a bug—it’s the business model of legacy platforms, designed to prioritize engagement over truth.
We’re doing this instead:
1. Partnerships for Integrity-
Collaborating with governments, NGOs, and independent fact-checkers to:
-
Produce and elevate credible content (facts over virality)
-
Detect and remove harmful misinformation (AI-assisted, human-reviewed)
-
Promote verified profiles (trusted voices, amplified)
2. Smarter Content, Healthier Conversations
At launch, Pnyx will feature curated, diverse content—health, food, music, society—in partnership with respected creators and organizations. Every piece held to strict standards of accuracy and value.
3. Enforcing Accountability-
An independent advisory board (civil society + intergovernmental experts) defines harm thresholds
-
Human moderators + transparent AI enforce guidelines (no “algorithmic loopholes”)
-
Rewarding credibility: Verified accounts gain visibility, proving trust and engagement aren’t mutually exclusive
The outcome? A network where integrity scales.
Research shows: Users engage more when they trust the platform—because connection shouldn’t require skepticism.
We’re betting on it.-
Sustainability is at the core of our operations and development. We align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):
-
Goal 7: Reduce energy consumption and prioritize renewable energy in data centers
-
Goal 12: Optimize hardware, minimize electronic waste, and extend server lifespan
-
Goal 13: Cut CO₂ emissions through efficiency and green energy solutions
Our commitment includes adherence to ISO standards:
-
ISO 14001 for reducing environmental impact
-
ISO 50001 for energy efficiency
-
ISO 14064 for managing greenhouse gas emissions
-
Dialogue and conversation are the heartbeat of our platform. Yet, we acknowledge that harsh discourse often prevents users from joining and engaging in debates. Analysis shows that 4.5% of Facebook comments are hateful (*Report 2025), harming both democratic dialogue and individual users.
Algorithms should nurture healthy debate—not amplify toxicity.
Many users are avoiding the comment sections of certain social platforms today. They are actively avoiding connection and conversation. We aim to fix this unfortunate situation. This commitment requires both (among other things):
-
Inspiring solutions (e.g., AI assistance for posts)
-
Stricter moderation than what said platforms are currently providing
Measures like these are introduced as a compelling USP that motivates to explore Pnyx.
-
Pnyx is developed, operated, and hosted in the EU.
Pnyx champions cross-border conversations in Europe by providing a GDPR-compliant digital infrastructure that safeguards data and finances within the EU. Users can feel safe knowing their interactions and information are protected, adhering to EU regulations. We advocate for a robust local digital infrastructure in Europe, free from concerns about surveillance by unknown actors. This commitment is an intentional countermeasure to the fear of data misuse caused by the close ties between, for example, tech giants and government agencies in the US.
Enhancing Europe's digital infrastructure for social networks will improve transparency regarding those attempting to influence EU citizens, particularly through misinformation. Pnyx aims to support this progress by collaborating with European tech providers and ensuring all data is hosted exclusively within Europe’s borders.
AI is integral to the platform, driving key areas like user guidance, moderation, and coding. Our approach is tailored to collaborate exclusively with European partners, such as Mistral.
On the front-end, AI will enrich user experiences by:
-
Streamlining content creation with optimized text, images, and videos
-
Fact-checking shared claims for accuracy and credibility
-
Coaching users in comment sections to maintain constructive dialogue
-
Signs is a subtle in-app notification that notifies users about key focus areas:
-
Time Spent: Shows time spent on the platform in real-time
-
Credibility: Labels content as credible, undocumented claims, or unevaluated
-
Tone Check: Notifies users of harsh tones and guides constructive dialogue
-
PG Rating: Flags content inappropriate for younger audiences
-
(But Democracy Wasn’t Built in a Day.)
Yes, it’s a mouthful. No, we won’t apologize. The Pnyx (/nɪks/ - or just say “Nix”) was the hill where ancient Athenians gathered to debate, decide, and do democracy. 2,500 years later, we’re reviving that spirit.
Okay, but... Pnyx?
-
It’s where democracy got loud. First-ever popular assemblies, circa 507 BC.
-
It’s where speech had stakes. No algorithms. No ads. Just people shaping society.
-
It’s a reminder: Connection shouldn’t be easy—it should be meaningful.
The Pnyx was the original town square. We’re rebuilding it for the digital age.-
